About Captain Dave

My name is Captain Dave Tilley.  I hold a USCG 100 ton Masters license.

I grew up playing around Lake Norman, NC catching Bass and Catfish. (…and killing a lot of Brim in the process. LOL)

In the fall every year my Dad would take me to the coast for a week of Pier Fishing, a day on the head boat and of coarse a big dose of cotton candy.

When I moved to the beach...I had found my HOME in and around the ocean.  It is where I am at peace with the world.

  I have worked as an Head Boat Captain, A Charter Boat Captain, An Instructor of Navigation and Plotting, I have culled many a Shrimp on Shrimp Boats, I have spent the nights out on the ocean commercial fishing occasionally looking up at the night sky in all it's wonder, Delivered more Boats than I can remember up and down the East coast and I have even run a NEW 38 for a Senator for a summer. (That was fun)

My personal favorite type of fishing is Grouper Groping but Marlin, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel and Flounder are always fun!

I hope that you enjoy FryingPanTower.Com. I created it to share my LOVE of the Ocean and to give a little something back to the community that I call home.

I feel that time spent together FISHING with Family and Friends is some of the MOST Cherished Time in a life time.

If I have helped One Family or One set of Friends, spend One Day on the water, TOGETHER, having FUN, SAFELY...then it will all be worthwhile.

Remember to take a kid fishing.
