I think you're being taken in by a conman seeking to con the actual PETA fanatics who would believe this.
Yes we all agree it's a fake, you can actually see the bridle around the kitten's midsection that he's using to dangle the hook from.
More importantly, S. O. C. K. F. S. S., Inc is a registered FOR PROFIT company in Florida. He doesn't say how much of your money he'll donate to any of those designated non-profits. More importantly the registered agent, Grady Warren, appears to be a fisherman. He is listed as the RA for the following corporations in Florida:
OUTDOORS UNLIMITED, INC.
INSHORE TRIPLE CHALLENGE OF JACKSONVILLE, INC.
WILDLIFE PRODUCTIONS, INC.
REDFISH, TROUT AND FLOUNDER, INC.
NATIONAL INSHORE FISHING ASSOCIATION, INC.
OUTDOORS WITH GRADY, INC.
SIX MILE MARINA, INC.
Although the majority of those corporations are dissolved.
I think this guy just has a really bad sense of humor. I have a feeling everyday is April 1st to him and he hopes that PETA actually picks this up and runs with it making fools of themselves.
Coincidentally the incorporation date of S. O. C. K. F. S. S., Inc is January 7, 2009. Why is that important? Mr. Warren probably conceived this plan after reading the editorial from January's Sportfishing Magazine. The article details PETA's plan to teach children fish should be called "sea kittens" because:
Turning logic inside out in its typically quaint fashion, PETA explains the need to stop using the word "fish" because that "name can also be used as a verb that means driving a hook through [a fish's] head." pg. 6, Sport Fishing, January 2009
What I'm saying is, don't get your noses out of joint. You're taking this more seriously than I believe Grady Warren intended us [fishermen] to. Sit back and let the PETA folks get their organically-grown hemp shorts in a twist, then laugh after they take the "kitten-bait" so to speak.
I was actually disappointed that you can't order any shirts. I wonder what he sends back to you if you mail him a payment. Maybe a dose of reality and a "Buy one Get one Free" coupon to Red Lobster.
