Have been swamped at work lately and have not posted much but we have had some very good trips the past couple of weeks.
Had a great group of Postal Workers from Charlotte on Saturday, Brian, Bob and Chad. The SW wind was blowing pretty good which made it a little bumpy but that is a typical summer day off Southport. We caught some pogies at the lighthouse and steamed off to the 350 Line.
One of my mail men went down to the dresded sea sickness, I think Jose Curevo had talked him into a bad day the night before.
Got to the line and started slow trolling to find structure to bottom fish on and started picking at the bailer Mahi on the lite lines, found a nice ledge and dropped to the bottom and it was Game On. Nice BSB, Pinkies, Grunts, and then the Jumbo Scamp Grouper took over. Them 2 guys got a severe work out. They caught 5 Scamp and one Greenbean Then decided to stop and take a break when a school of small dolphin came to the boat so Tommy threw out a handful of cut squid and got them fired off, and then we finished wearing out our guest on 8 more Mahi and one lone Amberjack joined the party.
Tried to put up the Pictures but it said the file was to big so I put them in our Photo Album here onsite
We had a good ride home - They had a good catch of fish and it was a great day on the water. _________________ Ricky Holden
