I just started working on, restoring/making it what I want, a 23 Formula and I'm going to probably get rid of the Bertram, as much as I hate to. I've looked online to try and get some idea of what to price it, still not sure. Most project boats I found were anywhere from 5-10K, didn't see any for sale like ours that had been restored. I want to see what you guys thank. It's not far from looking new, but we have fished it for 3-4years and there's one or two scratches. It's got a 350 Mercruiser in it (which was rebuilt in 2005 and has about 200Hr. on it) and the pics tell the rest.

We started with nothing but the bare hull, so everything is new or refinished.

it is a nice looking boat and if the ecomony was better and you found the right person I would say around $12,000 but with the ecomony and now that gas is predicted to bust $3.00 a gal soon somewhere in the $4500 - $5500 range just because she is a classic

It does look like new. Pretty boat and good job on the restore. A boat like that doesn't really have a "market price" because there's no others like it in the market. I think you just gotta find the right buyer. The good news is that it only takes one buyer to sell your boat. Good luck.

Vaughnford, I know, that's what makes it hard. Obviously we won't get out of it what we put in it, but 12K is a little low and there's no way it's going anywhere for 4-5K, there's that much in hardware and parts. And I know it's hard to look at pics and say what it's worth. Still not sure if we'll sell it or not, probably just put a price on it and let it sit until someone bites.

It’s a cool looking fishing rig. Looks like it has a ton of fishing room for a 20ft boat. That big canvas top is a must. You have to escape the sun every once and awhile.

Thanks Deep, some of that room is taken up by a 160qt cooler, but 3 people can troll in the stream without knocking each other off the boat. It's really a sightseeing/relax with your family at the cape boat, which is why I want to up-grade. But don't get me wrong, she'll raise a fish or two.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but face the facts.

A 1967 boat is a 1967 boat, I don't care what you did to it, it's still a 1967 and it's not going to bring much money. It's 40+ years old and unless you find a person looking for a 67 Bertram and that's all he will settle for, I don't think you will get 5K. It will have to be a person with CASH as the banks will not even consider a finance option. There are too many boats on the market and very few buyers with cash to purchase them.

Best bet.... fish the boat and enjoy all the blood, sweat and tears that you have put into making it look as good as it does. NICE JOB>

I'd keep it. Great boat for over the summer, hanging out at the beach, or when the kinds and spanish are right off the beach. Great lookin boat. The value for the person who basically built it is going to be way higher, knowing what went into it, than the person looking for a newer boat. When you sell it, you will regret selling it. Good luck in what ever choice you take!

While I do agree with some of that, it is going to take someone that is looking for that particular boat. I've done some more looking and there is a market for these boats. I found more Bahia Mar models than the Moppie. The BM are selling around 20 and the few like ours I found were in the 13 to 20 range. I know in this market it's not going to sell fast at a high price but if it sells it will probably go to someone that the $$$ isn't a real concern. Thanx for the input fellas.

Hey Steve, what you mean Kings and Spanish near shore??? This boat don't know where it is unless it's got a wahoo on board. Smile

Here's what I'm working on now. Next time you see it, it will look as good as the Bertram, but it will take awhile.

in Fla. or New England where they appreciate the Bertrams a lot more than we do here. Your boat is unique in many ways, first deep V on the market. They set the trend for deep V center consoles. Jimmy Sanderson of Sandersons located in Cape Carteret restored a boat like yours about 2 years ago, he might be of assistance, call him 252 393 5051

It looks good and in the right market, it should bring you a surprising price. While the overall market is slow for boats, the market for Berties is always open for Collectors to buy. You just have to find the right person on the other end that appreciates what you have. There might be a Bertie Collectors Club around West Palm Beach, Fla. Search the Internet and you might find several clubs. Get in with those guys and they will find a buyer for you.

Bertrams are my favorite boat. Enjoyed a tour of their factory several years ago in Miami.

Good luck, hope you find the right buyer.

Thanx Capt. That's what we've been looking to do. Haven't made up our minds yet though. Definitely not going anywhere until the Formula is done. Thanx again.
