Went offshore Monday for first time this year with some good friends on a "cob web" trip. Went south to 400 line and ran offshore to find the warm water. the sat shot looked good for this area. Put lines in at 150 fathoms and 72 degree water. Heard a few tuna were caught out at 300 fathoms so ended up there with 74 degree water. 65 miles from the inlet! Trolled all day without a strike. Talked to one other boat who released a small blue but that was all. Very discouraging but a beautiful day with good friends. Boat did great, so ready to go with charter season. Have two this weekend and looks like they both will get blown out! Oh well, if the fish don't show up it may be for the best, except for my pocket book. This tuna deal for the last two years is very frustrating. 3 years ago I caught tuna in February and killed them in March and April. Guess they have passed us by again but hopefully not.
