Does this tournament have a TWT and if so what is the entry fee and how many places does it pay?
Also didn't see anything on the entry form for a Senior or Lady Angler. Does this tournament have either or both? How many places do each pay?
Can I pay my entry fee in person, don't always trust the mail system? If so where and when?

Rule 17 states "If no king mackerel are caught, the purse will be added to the next year’s purse." Does this mean If I enter this year and no one weighs a fish that I'll have a paid entry in next years tourny?

Reel Thrill crew is definately in. This looks like a lot of fun. I've already got some good ideas that I want to try out. The kings won't know what hit them. No chance of the money rolling over til next year.

There is no TWT, mail is the only way to send in an application(consider registered mail if you suspect USPS might lose it), if no one catches a King mackerel, the money goes into next year's pot. There is a lady angler and junior angler prize of $100 each.

Pirates work well too.

The Spro lure that some of you emailed me about is the SWIMBAIT BBZ1 in dolphin color.

The official name for the "Swimmies" is SWIMMING SHAD. They come in sinkers and floaters. Make an excellent double rig.

Fred; you somewhat answered my question about the prize money rolling over, but let me see if I have got this straight. IF no kings are weighed in the entire purse is held until the next years tourny and rollled into that purse?
EVERYONE will have to re-enter and pay another entry fee to fish next years tourny.
NOW what happens IF your club doesn't have another tournament next year? We all know this tournament was planned for last year and didn't happen. you just going to keep my money?
Most tournaments of this type generally give back the money (less a 10% retainage) if no fish are weighed or if the tournament is canceled. Heck one upcoming "fun" tourny has it in their rules that if no fish are weighed the entire entry fee is refunded. Why not this one?
Just doesn't seem right to keep a man's money and not give him something in return and a day of fishing ain't something YOU are giving.

"Most", what King Mackerel Tournament has that Rule,? Can you email me a copy of the Rule that each of these tournaments has?

Thanks.

Stan first you have to keep in mine that this NOT an SKA tournament. It is a FUN tournament. Now if you can get into that mine set I would suggest for an example you look at the rules for the Carolina Kingfish Classic tournament out of Sneads Ferry. They are posted right here on this site.

YEA ,YEA, YEA, YEA. I KNOW GUYS the two of them are not on the best of terms with each other IT'S ALL ABOUT BEING FAIR.
FAIR IS FAIR AND I DON'T CARE YOU ARE I DON'T THINK KEEPING SOMEONES MONEY FOR A YEAR OR MORE IS FAIR...IF THE TOURNAMENT IS NOT HELD GIVE THE MONEY BACK THAT IS FAIR.

AND JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS IT IS NOT IN RULE 17 NOW LIKE IT WAS WHEN I FIRST ASKED THE QUESTION. ??

BY THE WAY Stan I asked Fred the question he IS the tournament director isn't he or are you?? Seems that you have taken over this tournament. I'd like to hear the TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR'S explanation or have I heard it?

Raleigh saltwater has the same rule as your own OBO it's rule 16 I don't have to quote it to you, but I will "If the tournament is cancelled all fees will be returned minus 10%......." You should know it..

"if no fish are weighed"

The OBO KMT Rule #16 "If the tournament is cancelled....." This is what MOST KMT Rules state.

YOUR exact wording "If no fish are weighed" is what I take issue with.

SKA rules for a "fun tournament" and all monies handled by a check and the US Mail ? I think I will have whatever he has been smoking .
Stanman you need to use the KISS system. Keep It Simple Stupid .
You want to complicate everything . You start off with a good idea , then you add your intelligence to it and there it goes swirling down the drain .You would be a lot better to KISS it !
It actually seems like you are trying to pad your pockets with other people monies.

Stan I am NOT going to get into a battle with you on this website.. YOU damn well know what I meant.. The rules for this so-called "fun" tournament are a carbon copy of the OBO SKA tournment with the exception of the artificial lure part. AGAIN THIS IS NOT AN "SKA" TOURNAMENT BUT A "FUN" TOURNAMENT.
MY POINT IS AS SOMEONE ELSE HAS SAID : KEEP IT SIMPLE FOR THE MA AND PA TYPES...
THERE WILL BE NO MORE POST BY ME ON THE SUBJECT- SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST TOO HARD HEADED TO LISTEN TO REASON...
I'M DONE WITH IT..!!!

No one but the fisherman will be padding their pockets. This is a 100% pay out so what do you mean about padding someones pocket?? The SKA rules apply because everyone knows them so why reinvent the wheel with new rules. So how is this complicating things? Also the money roles over to the next years tournament if no fish is caught, what's so hard about that?? If you don't like that rule petition the commettee and have it changed. If anyone doesn't like it than Don't fish it, it's your Call to fish it or not. So can we just stop the crying and just FISH.

Vic,

Sorry I took so long to respond, my account was locked and I had to get it fixed by Capt. Dave.

The rules for this year's tournament are locked. As we work on the tournament for next year we will welcome your input and consider it and the experience of this year's KMT.

Thanks

Fred

that I am aware of have a rule that says "money returned if no fish caught". If there is one, please let all of us know.

The SKA rules are not complicated and everyone fishes them if you fish an SKA tournament. All KMTs sign a Sanction agreement annually to abide by the SKA Rules. What complicates rules is when people want to change them for no apparent reason.

Stan; YOU have never listened to what anyone has suggested before Why are YOU asking now ?
YOU are going to do it YOUR way anyway. It's YOUR tournament so run it YOUR way. IF WE want to be a part of it WE will IF not WE won't.

Here's a clue for you THIS IS NOT AN SKA TOURNAMENT, NOT SANCTIONED BY SKA, NOT APPLYING FOR AN SKA SANCTION, WEIGHS NOT GOING TOWARD SKA RANKINGS, SKA HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS TOURNAMENT... THIS TOURNAMENT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SKA.

SO THEREFORE AS I HAVE SAID SEVERAL TIMES DROP THE SKA ROUTINE AND GET BACK TO BASICS--- KEEP IT SIMPLE. SIMPLE RULES, ETC.
THIS IS A FUN TOURNAMENT NOT SKA ...
MOST OF THE PEOPLE FISHING THIS TOURNAMENT COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE SKA..!!!!
