Hey Bob,

I tried those pirate plugs yesterday. Man those things are great. I need to buy a couple more so when you are back in let me know how much they run, and if you have any more blue ones.

Thanks,

Matt

Everything he makes is really really good stuff. I don't say this becasue he is one of our Sponcers that help make this place happen.....but because he makes really good stuff. There is no junk in the line up. He came to the Get Together this past spring and gave away a handfull of these. (Along with a TON of other Killer Goodies) Bob rocks IMHO!

You want cheap....go to wally-world. You want something that works and is going to last...... go to Bob!

I forgot to mention these are hand made right here in NC. I made the mold and a friend of mine "Thunder Lizard" casts and paints each one with great care . I am not just saying this because we sell them but they work and work when nothing else does .
They can be rigged with BallyHoo, Cigar minnows and Ribbon fish. I prefer to run them on the outriggers rigged with medium hoos, the rocking of the boat gives them a jigging motion up and down and this just drives the fish crazy. The Dolphin were skying on them this past weekend, let me tell you that will get your blood pumping

They work real good with a ribbon fish. The unique way the the nose hook locks into the lure head keeps the bait from spinning . They are much to heavy to use with live bait.

The way I rig them is to take 48" piece of #60 7 strand wire and snell 2 # 4 treble hooks 4" apart and then snell the J hook provided with the lure in front of the last treble you tied on. Next you slide the Pirate plug on, the entire rig should be about 7" long about the same length of a Ballyhoo . Next you insert the hook in the head of ballyhoo. I go down from the top of the head, the eye of the hook should be mid way on its beak. slide the plug down and push towards the eye of hook passing the beak through the hole in the plug and locking the eye of the hook into the plug . If the beak is to big to go through the plug break it off but make sure the hook eye locks into the plug. Then at the end of the cable you can attach a swivel or tie it directly to your coast lock snap or swivel . To rig a Ribbon fish follow the same procedure just add 3 more treble hooks and tie the rig as long as the bait you are using . I hope this helps, there are a couple of pictures on my web site .

I live between the Rocky river and the Deep river about 10 miles south of Pittsboro, kinda in the middle of nowhere. Shipping is cheap these days with the cost of gas supposed to go even higher next week. You are always welcome to stop by. My phone # is on my site give me a call.

Frankie, yes 15-501 south take a right at the Rocky River Coon Hunters club sign and I am over in the Woody dam area.

Stop by we have lots of stuff that you just have to have. I mean if you could have a SS Line Spooler why not? Or a dozen Pirate plugs and a Tuna Swimming Hook along with a Harpoon why not?
