Just got a notification from the site telling me that I have made an attack and have been reported. I was checking the forums from my blackberry. Do you guys block access from blackberries.

We do not block Blackberries per say.....but the network that blackberries use does not show an IP address and we block anyone that does not show a valid IP address. I have looked and looked for a way to resolve this....but I have not found one as of yet. What I need is a way to ID a blackberry and then allow the blackberry......???

| If you figure it out, please be sure to post. Now I know the problem. Would love to use my Blackberry when I'm down fishing and away from my home computer. |

| Does the site block ports? I am trying to find out what ports blackbeery uses and what the header info is. I will find out today after I hit some wrecks off of MDand DE. cant wait to get back down there where the water is warm and the fisah bite. |

The issue is not with the ports. The issue is with the IP address. The site requires that you have a Valid IP address. IF you do NOT come from a valid address and display that IP address to the site....it thinks it is under attack. Just ask anyone on here that works for the GOV or a big company that runs a firewall. You get a big black screen that says,,,You Have attemped an Unknown attack againest this site.
Why do we require a valid IP?
FPT.Com is a different kind of site. User input is everywhere, The Forums, The News, The Calendar.....just about everything here has a add input button. User input is a dangerous thing. When we take input froma user it opens us up to hack attacks. So we make sure you have a valid IP address so we can track those attempts and block or ban those that try to do things they should not. _________________ Capt. Dave
