The inshore bite is on fire right now, so if the wind has the ocean in an uproar, you might want to go chase some inshore species. Big Reds, Specks and Flounder are feasting on all of the baitfish in the water and they are hungry. Recent trips have produced some great Redfish and Speckled Trout action, with lots of bites on top water plugs. This past weekend while fishing in the Cape Fear Inshore Classic, we released 8 Redfish that were over the 27-inch slot limit, including one 30+ inch bruiser. At one point, we had a school of 50-100 over slot redfish right beside the boat. I only have a few openings left in October. Open dates that I have are: This Sunday, 9/30/07 October 7, 21 & 28.
