Hear you Ricky! (We know you work with OIFC.)

Yes, it is a disaster. Just had a good look from land a week ago.

Wildlife has done nothing in months re the bouys. A third of their poorly anchored buoys were washed up on the beaches by last August.

I think NCWRC's last effort was over a year ago?

What I saw was that the inlet is overwashing very bad from sand being taken from beach erosion from the east end of OIB where many think a terminal groin will help us out there. (I'm a proponent of the terminal groin for OIB!)

The Corps came in a dredged the ICW last summer and that screwed everything up. The whole outer bar is now in a shifting shamble.

Yep, the corps have the rights to keep the ICW open, but they deny any responsibility to keep the inlet open or navagable (even for small craft) or a chanel marked.

Makes no sense to me about their logic. But, no one is picking up the pace of concern either.

My guess is that a big storm will eventually wash it closed from sand and house debries from Ocean Isle, which then will be a huge environmental and economic mess that some of us should have been attentive about.

The Paralysis of out State Legislature in the terminal groin situation is sickening to those of us that are aware of the economic and potential environmental impact of doing nothing.

Paralysis of legislation is killing us!!

We could have already fixed both of these issues, if it wasn't for plump legislators and our tax money going for further studies in undefined science.

Time to try someting different I think

You vote counts as many of us are fed up with a government that grows only itself.

Take it you will vote for people that make decisive decisions and take risks to get things done ?
