Cape Fear Christian Sportsman, A ministry of Christ Community Church, is hosting "Fish Fest '10." This school is open to anyone in the community. There is no cost, but a $20 donation is suggested. Come and learn everything you ever wanted to know about local fishing but were afraid to ask and be sure to bring a friend! The class will be from 8am-5pm February 20, 2010 at Christ Community Church (4555 Fairview Dr., Wilmington, NC). A light breakfast and Pig Pickin' lunch will be provided. Registration is available online at www.capefearsportsmen.org. If you have any questions post them to this thread and I will do my best to answer them.

We've got some awesome speakers this year! Check out the current line up:

The first 100 registrants will receive a goodie bag filled with products from Sea Striker, ClarkSpoon, Blue Water Candy and more. The first 50 registrants will also receive a free T-Shirt!

In addition, many door prizes will be given away including a free flats fishing trip with Capt. Brent Stanley of Current Adventure Charters!

I am really amazed at how everyone is stepping up for this event. Jodie Gay just let me know that Capt. Rick Croson of Living Waters Guide Server (and 23 and under SKA champ) will be at the event too! He will teach king fishing with Jodie and we are also adding a deep drop jigging class from these two masters!

In addition, Capt. Brent Stanley has graciously offered free flats fishing trip to be given away at the event. This is in addition too all of the free tackle and other goodies we have for everyone at the event.

One last thing...we have decided to give the first 50 people that sign up free Cape Fear Christian Sportsman T-shirts! We signed up a little over 30 in our first week, so hurry up and get your name on the list!

Hey guys...we have a whole bunch of the fryingpantower.com crew signed up. I can't wait to meet everyone! I almost feel like I should make yout FPT handle required on the registration form.

Be sure to say hey when you are at the event. My real-world name is Spence Hackney. I'll probably be the goof-ball trying to wrangle monkeys.

Check out what Capt. Jot Owens is donating for a door prize. The package includes 22 packs of Grubs form Berkley and Saltwater Assassin, MirrOlures, a Pflueger Spinning reel and lots more! The retail value is around $225.00. What a guy! Looks like everything you need to slay the trout and drum!

Nah it isn't required at all. Come on whenever you are able. You would probably miss out on the door prizes though!

PS...thanks again for catching the chum for the Tarpon tournament a year or two ago. I haven't forgotten you!

Ah..sorry for the confusion. Bags and shirts will be given away when you register. The door prizes are from 4:30-5:00. Right at the end. You have to hang around to get the big stuff!
