Getting seasick can ruin a great day on the ocean.
Here are some pointers to help out.

There are several forms of seasick medicines.
Some are over the counter, like bodine or dramamine,
can be found at local stores.

And prescribed forms like scopace or the Scopolamine patch.

I've seen a mixed bag of results with the over the counter stuff.
The Scopolamine patch seems to have good results if apply well
before the trip.(But wears off quicky) They say 8 hours, most users
get 4-6 hours.

Scopace pills are the most effective.

Some percautions you can take to keep seasickness to a minimum.

1.Eat a light non greasy breakfast
2.Don't drink alcohol the night before.
3.ginger snaps help settle your stomach
4.tums or rolaids also help, but won't stop seasickness
5.bottle water or light sodas
6.Go to the bathroom before you get on the boat.

More info added soon.

I saw on Mythbusters that they tested those wristbands and a they didn't work. They did have success with the OTC stuff as well as pickeled ginger. Maybe you could wash it down with some ginger cookies and ginger ale.

When used correctly......I have never seen the "Scopolamine Patch" not work.

If I had to use one....that would be it.

My own personal remedy for those overly bouncy days at sea:

I take Jolly Rancher lollipops with us and stick one in my mouth when I think I'm getting nauseous. It also keeps my mouth shut so I'm not fussing at Scott to turn around. lol

I also try to keep my water bottle AWAY from the cooler or at least AWAY from the blood and guts inside. (We stick our food drinks bait and fish in the same cooler). Sometimes the fishy smell makes me sicker.

I haven't tried the OTC stuff. Why would I want to take dramamine or whatever it is?? That crap eases your mind/stomach because its the same stuff that puts you to sleep!

I guess if you drank that recipe you wouldn't care if you were seasick.

I know I looked over many a day and Joe looked sick as I was swinging those 20 lbs red groupers over the side and he was retying from getting broke off! Laughing Next time I go I'll be sure to bring you some ginger.

I've worked with about all of them and Joe is the best in the biz at finding the grouper! Now catching them......LOL!!!

As rough said, don't eat greasy breakfast, try a bowl or two of cereal instead. Works great for me. Take a non drowsy dramimine about twenty minutes after you eat and at least a half hour before you go out. Don't get hammered the night before and keep your eyes on the horizon. Beer tastes awfully nice out there but won't help if you're already feeling sick.

Myself, my uncle , my brother , and my cousin went out on Cap'n Joe's boat today for King Mack. We each took 2 normal dramamine before bed yesterday and 1 non-drowsy before we left the house here and my uncle and cousin took 1 non-drowsy each when we got there. Oddly enough my uncle was fine for the whole trip even though he was hammering down Coronas the night before, but my cousin was sick as soon as we hit the spot. It was super flat though; very nice.

Here is my cure for sea sickness , believe it works, I used to could walk by a boat and get sick. But I loved fishing & being on the ocean so much
that I was bound & determined to beat it. dramamine has to get into your bloodstream to work, if you swallow it, 9 times out of ten it goes directly into your lower intestine instead of the bloodstream. Buy chewable tablets let them dissovle under your tongue , I take 2 before I go to bed And usually 1 when I get up depending on sea conditions, I eat breakfast & usually end up eating allday long which is a good sign that you feel good &
having a great day on the ocean.
