The Spanish bite on light tackle was great at Dallas Rock Saturday morning. We started out trolling the beach with little success and decided to ease out to Dallas Rock to hopefully find a little King Mackerel action. Upon arrival at DR, Spanish Mackerel were busting everywhere and they were all 1.5-3lb fish. Casted maria jigs, 1/2oz cripple herrings and small sting silvers till about noon having a blast. I even had a couple of blow ups on a soft plastic top water popper. Sure beats dragging them in behind a planner. On a side note, there were big schools of alewifes (shad) at DR as well. Plenty of bait to be had for the live bait KM fishermen. Sunday, I decided to have a nice relaxing afternoon with friend just putting around on the water. Caught a 14"flounder on the Billy Murrel Reef and quite a few lizzard fish. Spent most of the afternoon crusing the ICW at a blistering 4.5 knots soaking in the great October sunshine.
