I need to remove the steering wheel on my 20 ft Welcraft. The bolts holding it to the fiberglass have wallowed out. I have jam nut off, sprayed liberally with WD40 and using a couple of pry bars, but no luck yet. Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks
Wayne

If you are trying to remove the wheel from the tapered shaft, put the nut back on and turn it down several turns but not tight smack the nut with a hammer one good shot the inertia will break it free you don't want to hit the shaft you want to hit the nut you can use a block of aluminum or a piece of brass as a punch and hit that with the hammer....

If Bob's suggestion doesn't produce results, spray liberally with PB Blaster, wait overnight and try Bob's trick again.

Try what they've said and if that doesn't' work you should be able to get a small puller in there. Sucks if you have to go buy one but we've used them plenty of times for the same thing, sometimes it's all that will work. Rubber hammer to the back side of the steering wheel will work sometimes as well if you can get enough on it. Good luck.

IT IS OFF. Got some PB Blaster from a neighbor, sprayed and waited about 4 hours. Tapped with hammer and OFF.
Thanks for suggestions. Bought a can of PB Blaster this morning when I went to get some SS Screws.
Thanks,
Wayne
