OK guys what do you think we have done it for every other trip & it has worked out great. How about 200.00 a person no more than 5 people. If anyone is interested let me know. This is a pretty resonable price to get a chance to tangle with a Giant. But the only catch is no WIMPS allowed this is hardcore leave the dock between 4:30 - 5:00 & return around 2:00 maybe later. If we catch a short fish you keep him & if we catch a 73+ the boat keeps & you pay nothing. _________________ Capt. Shane

Yes you can as long as you have the safety equipment for everyone on board. Yellowfin commercial fishing is limited to 3. I went through this with someone last year & ended up going to the CG to get it clarified. _________________ Capt. Shane

ok sorry but I have a question for you, the safety equipment is all vessels must have life raft for # of people on board if you're outside 12 miles, but you only have to have submersion suits if you're documented right?? undocumented a type I for everyone, I don't know why documentation has anything to do with it, but that is how the reg reads to me, is that the way you see it?
Thanks,

Capt Seakoon,
If you are commercial fishing, whether State Reg or Doc, you must have an immersion suit for each person onboard, during the "cold water" period and North of 32 degrees (which includes NC ). The life raft comes into play outside 12nm and is a must for State Reg or Documented vessels, it is easier and safer to just get the life raft, but there are other buoyant apparatus' that can be used within certain nm, depending on how far you go out.
I know it can be confusing and frustrating. Keep in ming there are several more requirements out there that can get you jammed up as well. It is definitely worth getting a CFIV inspection, its free and well worth the time.
Take care,
