I heard there is a local (Wilmington area) person in Oak Island that is an authorized dealer/service for Minn Kota's. I believe his name is Jeff Weeks.
Does anybody know if this is accurate? That sure beats Myrtle Beach or Goldsboro! |

Don't know the Wilmington contact, but the MB guys are top notch.
I have several friends that have used them too. |

| I've used the guy down toward Murrels Inlet a couple times and he's reasonable. |

Call ahead he can usually fix while you wait... |
Not only can Hamp fix it, he sent me extra parts on my last repair and even offered to show me how to DIY in case it happened again.
Top freakin' notch if you ask me! |

I dont know the Wilmington contact either. I know for a fact there is no one listed on Minkota's website.
I took my to Coastline in Goldsboro. He rebuilt the entire head in less than 15 minutes while I waited. The majority of the bill was parts and I believe labor was not even 40 bucks. He is also a authorized service center.
One other bonus about going to Goldsboro from Wilmington is you get to EZ Bait and Tackle do some shopping. |

Thanks to all for your feedback. I took Capt. Keith's advice and called Hamp Shuping. This guy is FIRST CLASS! He took the time over the phone to ask me all of the problems and narrowed it down to a voltage or wiring issue...no trip to Myrtle Beach after all! Just a little time in my garage and what do you know....problem fixed!
I appreciate your advice. This is exactly the purpose of these forums.
