Alright guys, registration is now open to carry some of our Heroes out for a day of fishing June 2 in Morehead City! Ask any of the guys that have done it, you will never spend a better day on the water. This means the world to these troops to know that their service is appreciated! Hope to see you all down there!

my 2nd year taking the troops offshore and being a vet really wish someone had done this years ago. What a rewarding day, Dolphin and a Saildog for our crew.

You beat me to it Stuart but thank you!!!
We have opened volunteer boater registration and we have our first two boats signed up! Thanks to return volunteer Tim Baker on the boat RxtTaSea and our friend Stuart Ussery onboard the Lookin to Hookem!
I can only foresee it momentum building from here, please help spread the word that MAD needs volunteer boats more than ever this year. Gas prices are expected to be higher than ever this year and we are working on some creative ways to help offset that if we can, but we need more boats than ever show up at the dock and put a smile on more troops than ever before this year!
The troops are happy to catch "whatever" so you can have near shore plans that do not burn as many gallons up and would still do the job just as well. At the end of the day fun is the goal and if a few fish make it in the box….that is an added bonus.
We have rebounded from a tough year and are better than ever! We have brought some good people on to help, but in the end it is all of you reading this that decide you have the "right stuff" and are motivated to come to the event and volunteer your time, boat, money, equipment, talent, skills, grills, filet knives, all of it.
You are the ones who actually make this event happen. The payback is simple....A smiling Troop who caught their very first fish, first boat ride, first time on the water, or the family member who gets to spend time with the kids fishing from the dock, listen to the music, take a boat ride around Sugarloaf Island....you get the idea.
Do you have what it takes to help us? I can tell you one thing, the troops who protect our Freedoms certainly do and I am overwhelmingly excited to get to say "One Simple THANKS" to them by helping them enjoy something we do fairly often.
Thanks FPT and Captain Dave for all your support over the years!
Please stop by the MAD site and sign up today, we need boaters, and other volunteers to help with site & food preparation, serving, cleanup, dock help. You name it we need it.

I've been wanting to do the MAD event for years but didn't have the boat for it. Now that I have the new GW I'll be there!! As an about to be retired vet, I really appreciate what you guys are doing and can't wait to start giving back.
Thanks,

| Yes its a humbling experience I love it and cannot wait to do it again,I did not get to make the evening festivities last year because I wanted to keep the guys out as long as possible but I will be there for the whole thing this year,I do not think I have seen anyone enjoy fishing as much as those two guys I took last year.I truly felt like I did something that meant something that day.I just hope whoever signs up with me to go this year makes it,the first two last year couldn't be there buy folks in charge got me someone,I was late leaving but I was thrilled to get two and put them on a few fish. Thanks MAD for letting me do this really ! Oh I finally got back into site thanks guys |
