Going to make a stream run or two this week so ran my boat today to check it out. Been sitting 2 weeks. Went to CB Inlet.
The first set of cans going out are gone. Between the now first and second set was marking 5.5 feet where it was 10-11 feet a few weeks ago. Shoaling in bad.
This was around 3 hrs before low water with a falling tide and east wind. White water and breakers all the way across.
Prob OK at high water, but be carefull.

| Thanks for the update Midnight. Dredging 2-3 times per year is so much better than building a jetty 1 time. Where is the sarcasm button? |

But if they build a jetty then we won't be wondering if or when they will dredge, how much it's going to cost and who will pay for it. What's the fun in that? _________________ No Regrets

For anyone trying Carolina Beach Inlet I took a ride today about two hours before low tide and as Midnight Wind posted it was really bad. I actually made a decision not to try and get over the sand bar right in the middle of the channel by the third set of buoys. As I approached on the outgoing tide just above an idle the depth finder went from reading four to three feet.and they were breaking on the bar right across the channel. I wanted to be sure it was not a false reading on my new depth finder so my buddy Rich did the old Mop handle test and guess what, the depth finder works perfect. Suggest a lot of caution until they dredge if you try and use CB Inlet. I am stream bound Wed. early AM and for the first time I will be headed North to use Masonborough Inlet. Longer ride for me but bending a prop or rudder would ruin my day. I may run the inlet if it's really calm and high tide but that's a big maybe. Be careful folks!! Thanks Midnight for great information as usual buddy. _________________ There always biting somewhere |

Where is the Like button. I'm with you on this one man. Growing up fishing in SC with Jetties everywhere made things a lot nicer in my opinion. Now that I fish out of the Shallotte I get nervous running in and out at low tide. _________________ 31\' Contender w/ Yamaha 250\'s \"Paper Weight\" |
