I am taking the family down for a week on Saturday. Have always been to Hatteras, so I have no idea what gear to bring or what to fish for. Any input would be appreciated. Also, I have an 18' bowrider, usually use for water skiing in fresh water, but should I bring it down? I see lots of small waterways on google maps and wonder how the fishing would be in there in early April.

Thanks for the advise in advance. Happy fishing!!

The surf is producing whiting on shrimp, blues on cutbait. Piers doing well on whiting and occasional flounder. Creeks producing specs and reds. If you have a depth finder and a inshore map your boat would work for fishing around here, watch the tides. Off Bald Head been catching quite a bit of whiting on the boat. Hope this helps.
