Found a used 20' Onslow Bay I may go look at. Never been in one, I know they build a great boat though. Anyoe here have any experiences with the 20' positive or negative? _________________ 2013 Parker 21 SE \"Knot Right\"

Had a friend that had one and he loved it. Built like and runs like a much bigger boat. _________________ Onslow Bay 23TE w/ twin 300 Verados

Be sure it's an "orginal" Onslow Bay 20' boat built by Onslow Bay Boat Works. Brad knight builds nothing but the best.. power it with an E-Tec and you have got one heck of a boat.
As I understand Brad leased or sold the molds to another boat builder for a time and the quality just was not the same.
He now has the molds back and is producing the 20' along with the others. _________________ \"A Bad Day Fishing Beats a Good Day At Work\"

Yeah its an 07 Onslow Bay, not the other company. I loved my etec, but this has a 150 yamaha and I'm happy with that! _________________ 2013 Parker 21 SE \"Knot Right\"

He leased the molds to another boat company, and they were sold under that name. There's only one Onslow Bay. They are all excellent. By the way, Brad has his molds back now and is building them himself again.

Ah ok, I thought it was skimmer boats that were using that mold. Saw where he had started building a few of them again over on THT. Haven't found anyone that has anything bad to say about the 20. Guess I'll have to drive down there and take a look at it. _________________ 2013 Parker 21 SE \"Knot Right\"

Are you certain about that? I know that McKeecraft manufactured the Marathon 196 which is similar to the Onslow 20', but not the same hull. The Marathon 196 molds are now owned by Aegis Boats. They are under limited order manufacture by MHM Inc. in Bladenboro, NC (MHM owns the Chaos and Savannah boat lines). There's a lawsuit pending against Aegis over the ownership of McKee's molds, but I don't think there is much chance of that suit being successful or of McKeecraft ever coming back. Regardless, the Onslow 20' is a heck of a fine boat. |

there is a 20' onslow bay built by southern skimmer it was the same mold Onslow has now, i believe they sold it or leased it out for a while but like others have said Onslow has it back now.
There is one for sale on the hulltruth in the Onslow Bay Forum built by southern skimmer. _________________ Three Buoys Fishing Team

You're right Southern Skimmer is the company that leased the molds. But like I said, if it says Onslow Bay on the side, it was built by Brad. _________________ Onslow Bay 23TE w/ twin 300 Verados

I trialed the 20ft OB when I was looking in 2008, before I bought my Pioneer. The 20ft OB is built like a tank, rides high and dry for a 20ft boat, and has very good performance with the F150. I honestly loved the boat and would have bought one, but the price was more than TWICE what I paid for my Pioneer (nearly 2.5Xs). The livewell on the OB did not impress me and the sides were alittle lower than I like. I would buy one today for the right price and my next boat will be a OB 27xs. If you buy the 20ft OB and take care of it you will loose next to nothing in resale.

| If you are interested in that class boat it is a great boat----who knows it may be the boat that I owned. I owned a 20 footer for 18 months and got 2-7 foot itis and bought a 23TE OB. If it has a blue hull it may be mine. Wish I had it back and not this piece of ----- skiff that I replaced it with. |
