I had the pleasure of fishing with Russ, Rex and Fargo from Va. on Friday. The ocean was as pretty as I have seen it in awhile, so we headed off the beach looking for some Dolphin. The bite was a little late to start and didn't really happen until it was almost time to head in, but we still managed to catch a few Dolphin and Kings. Not as big as the ones I caught last Saturday, but in the words of Fargo, 'man, they sure pull harder than a bream'. Gotta love it.

Saturday, I had a last minute cancellation, so I stayed home to do a little boat maintenance.

Sunday, my friend Randy and I headed offshore looking for some more Dolphin. We started out around 20 miles and hooked a really nice gaffer that we lost at the boat. Things were a little slow, so we started trolling offshore looking for some new bottom and fish. We found several nice ledges and some good live bottom and found the Kings as well. We were really looking for the Dolphin, so we kept heading offshore. At one point, we really got into the Kings. They were hitting our Ballyhoo's and my Dolphin weenie got cut off twice.

We finally got into some Dolphin around 30 miles or so. Nothing big, but it was steady for awhile.

We ended up the day with 7 Kings, 4 Dolphin, several missed fish including one we believe was a Sail, but I can't be certain of that one.

Good luck and get out there, the fish are biting!!!
