Left out of WB around 7am on a 3/4 day trip. Weather was actually better than orignally predicted. 2 foot swell till about 9, then the wind picked up and it chopped up out of the south/southwest. Spanish were the target and they showed up. Put some in the box then headed out to 10 mile rock in search for some kings, heard the day before they where out there. Got out there and the wind blew the seas up to 5+. After a couple people got sick, and no bites, we headed back in for a few more spanish. Using 4" clarkspoons, we found a few more. Gold was the preffered color on #2 planers, even hooked up to a short king in about 38' of water. Water was still pretty dirty and wind really whipped it up by 11. Short and simple day.
On a side note, on Sunday 5/10 my mate went out with a friend and called me about 5pm and said they were slaying them limited out in an hour and half or so off of WB between the piers in about 14-17' of water. Water cleaned up a little. _________________ Capt. Joe
