Had a fun trip today, RAC, Bill Andrews, and my little son Hunter was going to head off shore to catch Mahi but decided against it because of a forever lingering storm that didnt look like it would clear any time soon.
So we implemented plan B - cruise the beach today to see if all of our gear was ready for the up-coming King Tournaments and if there was still a stray one still hangin around from eariler this week.
Loaded the net with some P-Nut size pogies out of the Wildlife Canal and headed to the reef to start.
Fishing was a little slow for most of the day but we picked at the Spanish on and off and didn't catch any Kings. Did hear of one Cobia getting caught at the Old sea Buoy and a few Juvy Kings.
One of the most relaxing days I have ever had on the water with some good friends and a little man that absolutely loves it out there. He is Hooked.
If the weather is nice I kinda doupt I will be leaving the hill on Meat or Pick up trips without him any more. _________________ Ricky Holden

Hey Ricky, was that you guys coming in to the river channel about 5:30-6? We were coming from the knuckle direction heading to Ocean Isle. Kinda look like your boat.
Sure looks like one happy kid. No doubt he will have a good number of kingfish under his belt very shortly. _________________ Go Heels!!!!! |

Thanks Guys
I guess I am a little proud of the kid, he really loves it and he makes my day just being on the boat.
Bob - The Spanish he caught and is holding was caught on a Green Pirate Plug, we didn't have but a few clark spoons on the boat so we rigged it with a live P-Nut Pogie and put it way back "as usual it caught fish"
Deep Drop - we were in by 4:00 but there were a couple of Cape Horns out fishing while we were at the Old Sea Buoy. _________________ Ricky Holden

Ricky - Looks like a fun day. Won't be long before Hunter's nudgin' YOU outta the wheelhouse and pushing the sticks... ala Carlton's Miami Vice style.
Bob - Finally found our first King down here in Crystal River, FL. Had a Mean Green, a Pink, and a nekked out... you know which one got hit... Mean Green rules |

RAC was calmer than me - I was the one wanting the Kings - He was content Spanish Fishing.
We all had a blast - It was just an absolute no pressure day on the water. We all fully intend to have sevreal more of them trips this year.
Caveman - Please throw (Beer Run) some Grouper Numbers for down there so he will be dialed in when I visit him. _________________ Ricky Holden
