Fished a half day Saturday with Scott, Kevin and Malcom from Durham aboard. Carolina Beach inlet was full of bluefish. Caught them throwing a variety of metal jigs. Lots of bait in the water and water temps were in the upper 60's.

Headed out towards the dredge wreck after playing with the blues to do a little bottom bumping. Action was fast and furious with a variety of bottom fish. The guys had a ball pulling them in on light spinning gear. Water temps at the dredge was 67.5 and bait everywhere. Kings should go off there any day now.

Finally had a pretty Saturday to go fishing.

Help, Looking for some advice on where to fish. I am a new boat owner and my home port is Mansonboro. I really do not like to run more than 20 miles out. Are there any closer areas that will hold good kings, grouper, etc.

Fish On!!!
Rick

Rick,

Welcome to the site. There are a lot of places to catch kings and bottom fish inside the 20 mile range. The Kings should start to show up inside of 20 any day now as the water continues to warm. Try any of the AR's, neashore live bottom areas and ledges. Numbers to many of these can be obtained from the I-map portion of this site. If you have any trouble using it, Capt. Dave will be happy to help you out I'm sure.

If you have any specific questions, shoot me an email or a pm and I'll try to help out.

Tight lines and good luck!!

Capt. Brent
