|
|
I have been using reefcast for over a year and love it. The last week or so I get very strange results. No matter were I put the cursor on the map the coordinates are way off. If I put my cursor on 33.50 and 77.30 and click, I get something like 32.26 and 76.29, which is not even on the map. I logged out and back in but get the same results. Anyone ever have this happen to them? ideas would be great. |

Tony,
You have been using it over 1 year and only have 4 posts? Man...You owe me some fishing reports!!
LOL!
It uses a different Lat and long format than you do.
It is on DDD.DDDD
You are using either DDD MM.MMM or DDD MM SS
If you convert them it will add up.
Dave
PS...
I will go check just to make sure....but I am 100% sure that is what the issue is. _________________ Capt. Dave

| Thanks for the replies but I don't get it. If I go to the reefcast map on my computer screen and place the cursor on 33.30 and 77.00 the report comes up for 32.64 and 76.53. I haven't changed anything (that I know about) but I can't get the report for the spot on the map I click on. |

Tony,
33 degrees 30 minutes and 77 degrees and 00 minutes == 33.50 and 77.00
33.30 degrees and 77.00 degrees
See the difference?
All three of these are the excact same location....
33 30.000 077 00.000 DDD MM.MMM <- Most people use
33 30 00.00 077 00 00.00 DDD MM SS
33.50 077.00 DDD.DDDD <- What computers use and ReefCast's forecast is in _________________ Capt. Dave

Tony,
Do you have the zoom level on you screen set to 100 %?
That could throw it of as well...
In Internet exployer hit ->View->Zoom and make sure it is set to 100%
When I click on 33 30 and 77 00 I get 33.50 and 77.00...Excatly what I should get.

I understand what you are saying but I don't think you are understanding what my problem is. Whatever the formatt, the results I get when I put the cursor on a spot on the map don't match up.
Whether it is 77.30 or 77.50 when the results (wind, direction and wave height) come up it is giving me something in the 76.50 range.
When I put the cursor on the spot where the 77.00 line and the 33.30 (33.50) line intersect and click it, the results that come up are for where 32.64 and 76.53 lines intersect which is not on my map. |

Did you check your Zoom level?
When I do it....it comes up as expected.
What link of cursor are you using?
The point of the arrow is the click spot.

It was the zoom. Once I put it back to 100% everything is working good.
Check out the results of one of our recent trips.
Thanks, |

Tony,
Well good. I am glad you got it fixed up.
It is usually the whole datum issue....but coming close at #2 is zoom. Glad we got you fixed up!
