Made two drift dives at the tower this past weekend. Visibility was good at about 75' but the current was clipping along pretty good. We were drift diving so not much of an issue. First dive we didn't see alot but the second dive was awesome. Lots of structure and fish. We shot a hognose and I missed a really good opportunity at a big ole gag. Guess he was just smarter than me. Saw about 8' sand tiger and the usual other suspects. Only thing real eventful was when I heard and saw an anchor hit the bottom about 40' away from me. Our boat was right over top of us with flag flying and I was towing a 30" round red marker buoy. I guess you just can't fix stupid and I decided to leave well enough alone when I got back on the boat.
It was a beautiful couple of dives. You can't ever go wrong dropping down around the tower.
Wish I had brought more tanks cause the fishing after the diving sucked. |

we hit it east friday and near the tower sat, current was honking near the tower but no thermocline. We got some nice gags and a couple of hogs but no bugs.
I would be pretty fired up if a anchor dropped that close, would call the coasties for sure. that is extremely dangerous, imagine it hitting you in the head while down there, it would kill you. good you came home safe.

I'm still in HPDI Hell (repair shop), killing me to miss some of these nice diving days. _________________ BaDaBing Fishing Team

| Scary situation for sure. Guy in the boat should have raised hell. |

| I did a overniter off of lookout this weekend, current varied and vis was 50-60. Got some of everything. Glad you didn't get hit by that fool, next time wrap the anchor chain around the ledge or a rock. |
