wshackne, my PM replies aren't working - says I have an invalid session... When I logged into Mozilla & IE I got blocked from FPT... lol... I hope you read this posting ...

To everyone:
My paypal address is: blueoceaneyez@aol.com

I can get you clear bubble rigs that are fully mono (no wire) with tubing (green or orange & possibly yellow) and/or some with the traditional McDonalds straw instead of tubing. Let me know what you'd like.
$4 a piece & FREE SHIPPING. I'm not doing this to make a profit - I haven't made a $1 off anyone yet. Smile I just want to share these neat things with everyone...

You won't be disappointed with these! I haven't been let down yet Smile.

-Amanda

Picture below is a representation of traditional bubble rigs with straws.

I'll tell you what else I'll do .... since we've had so much luck with using clarkspoons on the end, for $8 a piece I'll personally make you a bubble rig with a silver or flashy clarkspoon (you choose the colors) instead of the treble hook & tube/straw.

Those are cool looking rigs.

What does the bubble do? Is it a teaser?

The water in the bubble makes it cast WAAAAY out.

When you are reeling it in, the bubble skips along the top of the water causing splashes and makes a trail - gets the fish attention & they hit the straw/spoon which is trailing behind a foot or so after the bubble. You can also hold your rod tip down towards the water and as you reel, the bubble will stay more under the water for less skipping & splash but still leave a trail. You can jig it a bit if you want, but it's not necessary.

CASE #1:

There it was - - - a school of Gulf Bonito (these are False Albacore in NC)....

One guy is throwing small pompano jigs at them with all his might... He catches nothing... He can't cast the almost weightless jigs but so far so he gets his buddy to drive the boat closer to them - - - that makes the school go down & he is out of luck on catching anything. Smile

We see the school come back up after those guys move along. We get ahead of the school & are far enough away so that we can cast bubble rigs to them. The bubbles have enough weight (b/c of the water you put in them) that we can cast waaaaaaaay out into the school. We reel them in as fast as we can (spoons, tubes, & straws) - immediate hookups!

CASE #2:

There they are - - - Spanish around the Shalimar Bridge (yep, we have Spanish in the BAY!). Most times they are not popping the water like they do outside in the Gulf / Ocean. But, you know they are there b/c that's where they are year after year at this time.

One guy is throwing a gotcha plug out. He's reeling it in and sometimes the hooks get wrapped around his line. He has to straighten it out and try again. The wind picks up and it's hard for him to throw the Gotcha. He cusses and gets frustrated. He's lucky to go home with just a few Spanish.

We stand on the bridge right beside him with bubble rigs (tubes & straws, we prefer the spoons in outside waters). We cast into the wind, but the weight of the water in the bubble still takes our rigs waaaay out quickly and right to where we want. We reel the rigs in, sometimes slow, sometimes quickly - hookup! We de-hook and release the Spanish.

Just thought I'd share some stories on their comparisons to other more traditional stuff.

I should open a business & sell these things to NC tackle stores!!!

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

..Hey Amanda.. How about a few just rigged to terminate with a swivel about 6 inches or so below the bubble.? That way I can connect whatever it is that's ticklin' my fancy that day.. Anything I've used sans wire on Spanish has proved mighty frustrating so far..

..It's about a whole year now that we first discussed these rigs and I never got to try them since Tex's gang were unawares of them.. I'd like to get on with that now.. Wink Very Happy

..Fat Albert and Spanish Macs on light gear time will be here shortly.. I ain't missin that this go-around.. d:^) Schneeky..

Schneeky, I'm so sorry!! I JUST read your post!!! I'll tell this to everyone since I'm here:

I have been getting the clear bubbles from Walmart & a local Destin tackle store. I went in Bass Pro a few days ago for our weekly browsing and they are now selling packages of 2 clear bubbles cheaper than buying them individually.

For those of you who want to make your own bubble rigs, I can get you 2 packages of bubbles (= 4 bubbles) for $8 (shipped FREE). I don't want to mess around and buy / ship just 1 package - paypal charges me just for using their service. Sad Besides that, it costs more to ship to you than what that 1 package costed to begin with. So anyway, here's the deal:

2 packages = 4 bubbles = $8
3 packages = 6 bubbles = $12
4 packages = 8 bubbles = $16
5 packages = 10 bubbles = $20

Bass Pro does not have a lot of these, so if you want some, speak now. Smile

I can also include a diagram of HOW to make a complete bubble rig if you'd like.
